Understanding Your Deductible

Your deductible is the amount of money you must pay out-of-pocket before your insurance coverage begins. Higher deductible plans typically have lower monthly premiums.

Some key things to know about deductibles:

  • Deductibles start over annually on your policy renewal date
  • Many plans have separate deductibles for different coverage types (medical, pharmacy, etc.)
  • Certain preventive care services are exempt and covered before reaching the deductible

Our team can help explain how your specific deductible works based on your insurance plan.
